Canadians continue to meet their objectives

We are making some progress.

That’s the finding of a unique survey of Canadians conducted for CIBC. In short, it measures our ambition. And how we’re doing in achieving the objectives we set for ourselves.

The survey also found that many of us share common ambitions. Nationally, the top three are: health and wellness followed by financial stability and finally family relationships.

And, while economic and political uncertainty weigh on our ability get these things done, more than two-thirds of us are satisfied with the progress we are making and three-quarters are optimistic that 2025 will bring even further advancement towards our personal goals.

Work-life balance is now the most important to the largest cohort of Canadians. 91-percent say it is a critical factor in achieving happiness while less than half ranked career advancement at the top.

But here’s what we’re not good at: celebrating success. The best formula for success including setting, tracking and then celebrating goals. Only a third of us set them and monitor them while less than 30-percent celebrate milestones as they completed.
