The Power of Head Offices

It’s a topic that, unfortunately, we don’t talk about much in this province but a development in the past few days reinforces the need for it to get some attention.

When the NSBA held its annual Popcorn and Entrepreneurship event in Saskatoon, honoring K. Nasser, one of the sponsors told the audience to watch for an announcement in a few days. Well it has been revealed and Regina-based Brandt Group is now the largest John Deere Construction and Forestry equipment dealer in the world.

The family-owned business purchased Nortrax which operated the franchise in Ontario, Quebec, parts of Atlantic Canada and some US outlets. This gives brings the Regina firm’s total operation in this branch of its business to more than 50 outlets and more than 2,500 employees. Add this to their farm machinery lines and other businesses, the company is a potent force …one where the decisions are made here and we see a wide range of benefits such as support for community groups and sports organizations such as the Regina Pats which are also part of the portfolio and utilize the Brandt Centre.
