Good time of year to update your website

The end of a calendar year or its mirror image, the beginning of a new year, is a time for rituals like tallying up your personal net worth or changing the batteries in the smoke detectors.

And it also the perfect time for one other often-overlooked job. Cleaning up the About Us section of your corporate website.

About the only ones who have likely already handled this item are the big players with enough capacity to dedicate content builders or editors to website management.

For most of us, it is one of those after-thought things so by going through the site at this time of year, you can update your staff or team listings by adding newcomers and deleting those no longer on the payroll.

The point here is that once you put a website online you have entered a new realm. You’re a publisher. Just like those who publish content such as news coverage, entertainment, sports or general information – failing to remain current means you risk an important communication link with customers or prospective employees because they have no reason to revisit your page.
