Vendasta — one of the flagship companies in Saskatchewan’s technology community — has just grown again with its acquisition of MatchCraft.
Vendasta announced the acquisition of the California-based software technology company on Jan. 11. MatchCraft provides a platform for firms working in the advertising and social media space in nearly two dozen countries, extending Vendasta’s reach considerably.
This latest addition amplifies Vendasta’s role in Saskatchewan’s commercial sector and its rapidly expanding technology sector, coming on the heels of its acquisition of CalendarHero in October 2021.
Normally, Saskatchewan companies doing what Vendasta has done — attracting international investors and customers — is a take-over target with larger firms in major centres grabbing up emerging players.
But Vendasta has gone the other way, deploying its capital to be the acquirer — not the acquired — adding weight and diversity to Saskatchewan technology and commercial sector.
The creation and attraction of head offices is big stuff in economic development circles. Vendasta is rapidly becoming the poster child for Saskatchewan’s growth in this arena.
