The latest report on new vehicle sales in Saskatchewan carries a welcome change in direction for the province’s motor dealers. Traffic on Saskatchewan automotive dealers is increasing.
After a flat to slightly down period through much of the summer, the fall started on a positive note.
October’s figures are the latest to be released and they show a jump in the number of new vehicles leaving dealer lots. That follows a similarly upbeat performance in September with buyers scooping up 250 more units than in the same month a year earlier.
That theme was even more pronounced in October as the volume of transactions rose by roughly 800 compared to a year ago. And the value of the purchases was about $50 million higher than in October 2022 with all the growth coming in the sales of new trucks rather than passenger cars.
These provincial figures jived with the national results which saw a growing number of purchasers across the country unwilling to postpone their new vehicle purchase any longer.
